Jordan is one of the most stable countries in the Middle East and remains an open destination for travelers. The country has enjoyed significant political stability for several decades and pursues a moderate foreign policy based on dialogue and regional cooperation.

However, Jordan is located in a region where the geopolitical context can change rapidly. Recent tensions in the Middle East, particularly between Israel, Iran, and the United States, have had occasional repercussions on the country, mainly due to its strategic position in the region.

These events have led to heightened vigilance from several governments and potential adjustments regarding airspace. However, the areas affected are mainly related to the regional context and military infrastructures and have not impacted major tourist sites or daily life in the country.

Our local partners confirm that tourist activities, accommodations, and planned tours continue to operate normally.

At Jordan Nomads, we monitor the situation daily in collaboration with our partners on the ground and based on official recommendations. Our priority remains to allow our travelers to discover Jordan under the best conditions, with transparency and peace of mind.

We closely monitor the official recommendations from European governments as well as the local situation, in collaboration with our partners in Jordan.

A change in travel code or advisory does not automatically mean that the trip is canceled. These recommendations often take into account the regional geopolitical context, potential risks, and the evolving situation, which may differ from the reality on the ground.

Our approach is carried out in several steps:

• About 1 month before departure
  If the travel code is still orange or red and uncertainties remain, we send an update to participants. If some travelers no longer wish to go under these circumstances, we offer them:
  • a Travelbase voucher valid for our adventures;
  • or a change to another Travelbase experience.

• About 1 week before departure
  We conduct a final assessment based on the current situation, official recommendations, and information from our local partners.
  If we believe that the trip cannot take place under sufficiently calm conditions, we cancel the departure. In this case, travelers can choose between:
  • a refund;
  • a Travelbase voucher;
  • or a postponement to another adventure.

Our priority is to find the right balance between the safety of our travelers, the reality of the situation on site, and the desire to allow the discovery of exceptional destinations under the best conditions.

Jordan Nomads is specially designed for groups of 2, 3, or 4 people.

For each departure date, we have a vehicle set up for a group of 3 people and a triple room in each hotel. Groups of 3 will receive a €250 discount on the final bill.

If you want to travel as a group of 4, you'll be split into 2 rooms for 2 each night. Groups of 4 will receive a €350 discount on the final bill.

To travel to Jordan, you need to have:

• A valid passport: valid for at least 6 months after your date of entry into Jordan.
• A national or European driving license: required to drive the rental vehicle during your road trip.
• A Jordanian visa: available on arrival at the airport or included with the Jordan Pass (which also provides access to many tourist sites).

Practical tip: always keep your identification documents with you when you leave your vehicle.

The Jordan Pass is an official tourist pass that makes it easier to explore Jordan while saving money.

It includes:

• The entry visa for Jordan (if you stay a minimum of 3 nights in the country)
• Access to over 40 tourist sites, including the must-sees:
• Petra;
• Wadi Rum;
• Jerash;
• the desert castles;
• many museums and historical sites.

Why get the Jordan Pass?
For a road trip in Jordan, it's usually very beneficial as it combines the visa and main entrance fees into a single purchase.

The Jordan Pass can be purchased online before your trip or through Travelbase options. We recommend having it on your phone (or printed) so you can easily present it during visits.

⚠️ Note: the Jordan Pass does not replace your passport and does not cover optional activities offered during the road trip (like certain excursions or local experiences).

Not necessarily before your trip. It's better to exchange your euros or dollars on-site in Jordan rather than buying Jordanian dinars (JOD) before you leave. The exchange rates are usually more favorable at Jordanian exchange offices than in Europe.

In practice:

• Bring euros or dollars in cash (make sure they are recent and in good condition, as damaged or very old bills may sometimes be refused).
• Exchange a small amount upon arrival at the airport for your initial expenses (taxi, tips, small purchases).
• Do the rest of your exchanges in the city, where the rates are often better.

Credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, and large shops, but cash is essential for some places, especially in the desert, small villages, markets, or with certain local providers.

Practical tip: always carry some cash with you during your road trip.

Here are the additional costs to consider:

• Fuel: around 100 JOD, which is about 150€ per car for the entire trip
• Food and drinks outside of the breakfasts that are included in your basic package.
• A prepaid SIM card: between 3 and 7€

No, drones are generally not allowed in Jordan without prior authorization from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), the Jordanian civil aviation authority.

The import and use of a drone are subject to strict rules.

Even though the Jordanian landscapes (like Wadi Rum or Petra) are amazing for aerial photography, it is strongly advised not to bring a drone without the necessary permits, as it may be confiscated upon arrival or cause complications.

To make the most of your trip, we recommend focusing on photos and videos taken from the ground, which can already capture the beauty of the Jordanian landscapes.
